A CLONED military vehicle was set ablaze by angry people last night after self-claimed armed police beat a taxi driver for a rear-end collision. Some police cars were smashed in the chaos as well, police in the south China city of Nanning said today.
The fake military MPV crashed into the taxi in an accident but the driver surnamed Chen asked the cabbie to pay compensation and beat him up for protesting. Their scuffle soon drew a big crowd.
As police were about to bring Chen to a police station for investigation, the agitated cabbie stood in their way to protest. Some onlookers took the chance to burn the vehicle, police said.
